Stuarts Draft & Clymore Elementary Schools

Special Features

Developed as part of a “campus plan,” each school is located in a site with a middle school and high school. Similar in design, both facilities were designed and value-engineered by the project team to be constructed efficiently, utilizing standard, durable materials and to provide public, multi-use areas, as well as separate academic spaces. The 90,050-square-foot multi-functional design provides for community use, athletic facilities for use by other schools on campus, and food service facilities capable of providing support services to the middle and high schools.

All of these efficiencies, however, did not mean sacrificing aesthetics. While the building exteriors utilize standard materials, these materials are arranged in unique ways, creating unusual and pleasing designs. This innovative design provided Nielsen masonry craftsmen the opportunity to showcase the quality and pride in workmanship that are the trademarks of our organization.

The Nielsen Partnership

Nielsen was able to capitalize on the similarity of design and schedule of the two schools by efficiently utilizing manpower, equipment, and subcontractors in a proactive management approach. The cooperation shown by the project superintendents in sharing resources created positive results for the schools in terms of value and an expedited schedule.
