Mountain Crest Retirement

Special Features

The housing development consists of seven units, with a total of 28 apartments. Each of the units contains one two-bedroom apartment, and three one-bedroom apartments. The apartments have a spacious kitchen and living area, as well as a large laundry/utility room. Each apartment is handicapped accessible. They include a front porch, which lends a neighborhood, community feel to the project.

The development is open to individuals over 55 who meet the income guidelines. The exterior is vinyl siding, with 40-year shingles on the roof. The project allows for a future expansion of three additional units.

The Nielsen Partnership

“Nielsen was responsive to our needs,” says Tom Carlson, Waynesboro Housing Authority. “They responded promptly to requested change orders with proposed pricing. They resolved and trouble shot problems as they arose. Nielsen demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and competence in terms of workmanship and contract administration and management. The project was moderately difficult, with site conditions and complex financing. We appreciated Nielsen working with us through some of the more difficult circumstances, which resulted in an overall successful project. Everything came together at the end.”
