Bath County Animal Shelter
The single-story Animal Shelter construction includes a reinforced concrete slab-on grade, masonry walls, wood-framed trusses with an approximate footprint of 40 feet by 50 feet. The roof is standing seam metal and the exterior skin is a combination of split-faced block and cement siding.
The interior finishes are designed for durability such as painted cmu block walls and epoxy floors. The interior layout includes several cat and dog holding kennels, out door runs, staff offices and clinic spaces.
The small site has a 30 foot elevation change which made the excavation process challenging for the entrance road. Concrete sidewalks, asphalt paving and landscaping are included to enhance the facilities appearance and access.
