Gander Mountain is committed to preserving and managing the nature resources of North America and bettering the outdoor experience for generations to come. It is these commitments that lead them to Tilt-Up Construction. Sustainability and Life Cycle Costing make Tilt-Up construction the natural “green” choice. The speed of construction also allows Gander Mountain to open their stores faster to serve the needs of the consumer.
This was most certainly the case on the Gander Mountain Project in Charlottesville, Virginia recently completed by Nielsen Builders. The time frame for the footings, slabs and panels was just 45 days start to erection.
There were 56 total panels totaling 46,000 SF with heights up to 31’10″ and some panels coming in 19″ thick.
Nielsen Builders has been doing tilt-up since 2002 and according to Project Manager Mike Budd “This isn’t the first time we have had a tight schedule, tilt-up allows us to meet the demand of the owner.” Tilt-up Construction is the fastest form of construction from conception to completion, shortening construction cycles and allowing owners to get into their finished buildings and open for business sooner.
